This program helps the student to learn to recognize the Times of the Day. There are seven sub-programs.

To close this “Times of the Day” program , click on the “ Exit ” button.

Level 1 |
When this option is selected, one “Times of the Day” picture appears at the top of the screen. For “Matching Times of the Day using Pictures”, “Matching Times of the Day using Words” and “Matching Times of the Day using Clocks”, one “Times of the Day” picture is shown at the bottom of the screen to be matched with the one at the top, without any distracter. For “Discriminating Times of the Day”, one “Times of the Day” picture appears on the screen. For “Activity for Sequencing Times of the Day”, the program asks the student (for instance) “What comes after night and morningHelp” The student clicks on noon to answer the question. In this level, the student needs to click only one time of the day to complete the activity.

Level 2 |
When this option is selected, one “Times of the Day” picture appears at the top of the screen. For “Matching Times of the Day using Pictures”, “Matching Times of the Day using Words” and “Matching Times of the Day using Clocks”, two “Times of the Day” items are shown at the bottom of the screen to be matched with the picture at the top, with one distracter. For “Discriminating Times of the Day”, two “Times of the Day” pictures appear on the screen. For “Activity for Sequencing Times of the Day”, the program asks the student (for instance) “What comes after noonHelp” The student clicks on afternoon and then evening to answer the question. In this level, the student needs to click two times of the day to complete the activity.

Level 3 |
When this option is selected, one “Times of the Day” picture appears at the top of the screen. For “Matching Times of the Day using Pictures”, “Matching Times of the Day using Words” and “Matching Times of the Day using Clocks”, three “Times of the Day” items are shown at the bottom of the screen to be matched with the picture at the top, with two distracters. For “Discriminating Times of the Day,” three “Times of the Day” pictures appear on the screen. For “Activity for Sequencing Times of the Day”, the program asks the student (for instance) “What comes after evening and before morningHelp” The student clicks on night to answer the question. In this level, the student needs to click only one time of the day to complete the activity.

Training |
This option is selected by default. When this is selected, the program can be used to train the student.

Test |
Select this option to measure the student's progress. The “Report” button under “Test” mode is enabled. The “Prompt” is disabled.

Display in BIG LETTERS

|
This option is selected by default. When this is checked, all letters displayed on the screen will be big or capital letters. |
Display in small letters |
|
|
When this is checked, all letters displayed on the screen will be small. |
Prompt with Green/Red Color |
|
This check box is selected by default and is active only in training mode. This prompt is used to help the user find the correct answer on the screen. When this box is checked, the correct answer turns green as the mouse pointer passes over it and the wrong answers turn red.. Under test mode this option is turned off. For training mode the teacher/parent can select or deselect this option by clicking on it. |
Command Text |
|
This option is selected by default. When this is checked, a short text appears at the bottom of the screen. It tells the student which items to identify. If unchecked, the text won't be visible. This option is selected by default for all the programs except “Matching Times of the Day using Words”. |
Prompt |
|
This is checked by default. If the student fails to match the correct “Times of the Day” picture within ten seconds, the program guides him/her to the correct “Times of the Day” picture. This is available for “Training” mode but disabled for “Test” mode. |
Uncheck this box if the prompt is not needed in “Training” mode. |
This option is disabled for “Activity for Spelling Times of the Day” and “Activity for Sequencing Times of the Day”. |

With Blink |
|
|
This option is selected by default. If the correct “Times of the Day” picture is not chosen after ten seconds, it blinks |
|
With Label |
|
|
The names of the correct times of the day appear below the pictures. |
|
With Animation |
|
|
If the correct “Times of the Day” picture is not chosen after ten seconds, an animation appears (the correct “Times of the Day” picture animates). |
Congratulatory Animation |
|
This box is checked by default. This is available only for the “Training” mode. When this is checked, clicking the correct “Times of the Day” picture Invites a congratulatory animation. This animation runs for ten seconds. Click anywhere on the screen or press space bar to stop the congratulatory animation. |
|
Uncheck the box if the student doesn't need congratulatory animation. |
|

|
This program has three features. They are “Words for Times of the Day”, “Spelling for Times of the Day” and “Description of Times of the Day”. |

Words for Times of the Day |
|
|
This feature names the five times of the day; morning, noon, afternoon, evening and night. |
|
Spelling of Times of the Day |
|
|
This feature helps the student to spell the words for all five times of the day. |
|
Description of Times of the Day |
|
|
This describes the time of the day and illustrates the times of the day with animation. |
|
|
Auto Play
|
|
Check this box to run the “Times of the Day” program automatically; the student can just sit back and watch. To stop the automatic run, check box for “ Display when mouse is over Times of the Day ” |

Done |
|
|
Click on the “ Done ” button to close “ Times of the Day ” and return to the main program. |

2. Activity for Spelling Times of the Day |
|
This program asks the student to spell the “Times of the Day” word by typing the letters. The “Times of the Day” word that needs to be spelled will be highlighted on the left of the screen. Training/Test, Screen Display (Display in BIG LETTERS/Display in small letters), Command Text and Congratulatory Animation can be selected for this program in the Settings screen. |

3. Activity for Sequencing Times of the Day |

This program helps the student to sequence the times of the day. 4. Discriminating Times of the Day |

Here, the program will ask the student to identify a time of the day. The student is asked to find and click on the correct picture shown on the screen. |

5. Matching Times of the Day using Pictures |
|
In “Matching Time of the Day using Pictures” a “Times of the Day” picture is shown at the top of the screen. The student is asked to click on the matching “Times of the Day” picture shown among others at the bottom of the screen. |
The default selections for this program are: Level 3, Training Mode, Display in BIG LETTERS, Command Text, Prompt with Blink and Congratulatory Animation. |

7. Matching Times of the Day using Clocks |
|
This program runs like “Matching Times of the Day using Pictures,” but instead of pictures, clocks that show the times of the day are used. The student is required to click on the correct clock which represents the time of the day shown on top of the screen. |
The default selections for this program are: Level 3, Training Mode, Display in BIG LETTERS, Command Text, Prompt with Blink and Congratulatory Animation. |

Only under “Test” mode is “Report” enabled. After doing any number of test problems, you can click on “Done” to see the report. When you click on “Done” the settings screen appears. Now click on the “Report” button under “Test” to see test results. First the current test result will be shown with the date, starting time, end time, and level of the test. It also shows the percentage of correct answers. There are also buttons for showing test results in different forms. “Report” allows the teachers/parents to measure the student's progress. Detailed Report |
|

This screen shows test results including the grade, item identified, distracters, time taken to finish the test, and other necessary information based on the test. |
|
View Old Records |
|
|
If there are old test results, they will be shown on this screen. The current test result is always on top. |
|
Bar Chart |
|
If you wish to see test results on a bar chart, click this button. |
|
Overalls |
|
|
This button appears on the Bar Chart Screen. Here, the student can see the average of all test results. Written vertically on the bar are overall percentage of correct answers and date and starting time of the tests. When there are any old results, they will be shown, left to right from oldest to latest. |

Right Arrow |
|
|
This changes the display to the next more recent set of test results. When the current test result is on the screen, this button is grayed. |
|
Left Arrow |
|
|
This changes the display to the previous set of test results. When this button is grayed, there is no earlier test to see. |
On the bottom, the display indicates which record is being shown out of total records. |
|
Print |
|
When this button is clicked, the printer prints the current screen. |
|
Delete
All existing records will be erased, if this button is clicked. (But a warning message box pops up and asks for confirmation.) |

Done
Click on this button to close the screen and return to the previous screen. |
