Typing

This program helps the student to learn to type. There are four sub-programs.

Select a program by clicking on the program name at the left of the screen and then clicking the “Enter” button to open the program.

About

Click on the “About” button to view the profile of this company.

Help

Click on the “Help” button to view the help contents. The Help file opens in a separate window. Click on the “Close” button in the Help file window to close the Help file.

Enter

Click on the “Enter” button to go to the program screen.

Exit

To close this program, click on the “Exit” button.

These sub-programs are:

1. Typing Letters

In this program, the student practices typing letters.

Settings

User can select one of the three options, which are:

1.Typing Letters with Help

Here the letter appears on the screen and the program voice says (for instance) “ Type ‘A’ ”.

2.Typing Letters without Help

Here the letter does not appear on the screen when the program voice says (for instance) “ Type ‘A’”.

3.Typing Random Letters

Here the student can type any letter (letters only). When the student types a letter, the letter appears on the screen and the program voice says the name of the letter.

Screen Display

Font Zoom

This selects the size of the letter that appears on the screen. The range is 25 % to 100%

Color

This selects the color of the letter that appears on the screen. Colors offered are Red, Green, Brown, Yellow, Blue, and Black.

Letter Order

Alphabetical

The screen prompts will call for the student to type the letters in alphabetical order.

Random

The screen prompts will call for the student to type the letters in random order.

Congratulatory Animation

This box is checked by default. When this is checked, typing the correct letter/s invites a congratulatory animation. This animation runs for ten seconds. Click anywhere on the screen or press the space bar to stop the congratulatory animation.

Uncheck the box if the student doesn’t need congratulatory animation.

Letter Type

Big Letter

This option is selected by default. When this is checked, all letters displayed on the screen will be big or capital letters.

Small Letter

When this is checked, all letters displayed on the screen will be small.

Select Letters

This allows the Teacher/Parent to choose a particular letter or letters for the student to practice.

Select All

Check this box to select all letters. Uncheck to deselect.

2. Typing Numbers

In this program, the student practices typing numbers.

Settings

User can select one of the three options, which are:

1•  Typing Numbers with Help

Here the number appears on the screen and the program voice says (for instance) “Type ‘1’”.

2•  Typing Numbers without Help

Here the number does not appear on the screen when the program voice says (for instance) “Type ‘1’”.

3•  Typing Random Numbers

Here the student can type any number (numbers only). When the student types a number, the number appears on the screen and the program voice says the name of the number.

Color

This selects the color of the number that appears on the screen. Colors offered are Red, Green, Brown, Yellow, Blue, and Black.

3. Keyboard Model

This program shows the standard keyboard. When the student types a letter or number, the key flashes on the screen keyboard and the letter or number appears in the space at the top of the screen.

This selects the size of the letter or number that appears at the top the screen when the student types it. The range is 25 % to 100%

Color

This selects the color of the letter/number that appears on the screen. Colors offered are Red, Green, Brown, Yellow, Blue, and Black.

Typing Letters

Single Letter

This allows the student to type one letter/number at a time.

Multiple Letters

This allows the student to type more than one letter/number at a time.

Refresh

When a user clicks this button, all the letters or numbers typed will be erased.

4. Typing Words

In this program, the student practices typing words. There are ten categories, each with six words and corresponding picture.

Settings

User can select one of the two options, which are:

1Typing Words with Help

Here the word appears on the screen and the program voice says (for instance) “Type ‘chicken’”. Then when the student correctly types “Chicken” an animated chicken appears

2Typing Words without Help

Here the word does not appear on the screen when the program voice says (for instance) “Type ‘Chicken’”. Then when the student correctly types “Chicken” an animated chicken appears

This allows the Teacher/Parent to choose words from a particular category for the student to practice. There are ten categories: Animal, Clothes, Environment, Food, Fruit, People, Place, School, Toy, and Transport.

Select All

Check this box to select all categories. Uncheck to deselect.
